Robert Mallet-Stevens’s 1935 hinged table seamlessly translates architectural precision into a functional, transformative domestic object. The tiger maple top splits and hinges on refined brass hardware, shifting from a compact rectangle into an expansive surface. The table is a remarkable piece of early machine-age French Modernism.
